1. How to delete a site?

Click on "Manage" on the top right-hand corner of your Zoho site builder and open "Settings" menu. In the Settings menu, click on "Delete Site" link on the top right-hand side.

2. How to publish a website?

To publish your website, click on the green color button labelled "Publish" on the top right-hand corner of the Zoho site builder. To preview the changes before publishing, select "Preview Site" from the list that appears as you move your mouse over the green button.

3. How to delete files?

Select "Settings" from the list of options that appear as you move your mouse cursor over "Manage" button on your site editor. Select "Files" from the list on the left and it would display all your files on the right-hand side. Click on the file you would like to delete and click on 'Delete' button. You will be able to delete multiple files at the same time by selecting multiple files and clicking on the delete button.

4. Can I import my own themes?

Yes, you can create themes that works with Zoho Sites builder and upload, learn more about this in theme documentation (http://www.zoho.com/sites/theme-documentation.html).  Additionally, you may edit the existing themes that we offer. Use the easy-to-use Visual Editor to create your own version of an existing theme. We also provide the HTML/CSS editor for advanced editing and customization.

5. How to rearrange pages in menu?

Hover mouse over the menu and click on 'Manage Pages' button. All your pages will be listed on the Manage Pages pop-up window. Click and drag the pages to the desired order.

6. Can I link to external websites from the menu, besides a page on my site?

Yes, it is possible. When you create a new page, a dialog box appears with "External Link" on the left. Click on it, title your menu item, and specify the external URL to link to.

7. Is it possible to change logo size on the mobile site?

Yes! It is possible to change the logo size on your mobile website. Go to Themes > HTML/CSS Editor and you will be able to access the HTML of your mobile website, where you can edit the size of the logo in mobile website.

8. I have a HTML code, how can I put this in a page?

You can insert HTML code in text element. Click "insert HTML" icon in the toolbar that appears after highlighting text, paste the HTML code, then click OK. Due to security risks, we do not permit inclusion of scripts, forms, iframe and extensive HTML in your site. However, if you want to embed an iframe, you can use the Embed widget.

9. How can I transfer my domain from Zoho Sites?

If you would like to transfer your domain to another hosting provider, please log-in to your domain manager-->Click on your domain-->Under domain information-->Click on "Send by email" for authorization code. A mail with the authorization code will be sent to your domain e-mail ID which was registered. Using the code, initiate the transfer process from the 3rd party host.

10. Can I add code from third party services?

You can embed iFrame objects from third party sites using the Embed element. Other than that, we have separate widgets to include videos, image galleries from Flickr and Google+ photos, Twitter, Facebook and Google+ profiles and buttons and Google Maps.

11. How can I customize mobile website?

To customize your mobile website, go to Themes > HTML/CSS Editor and you will have access to the HTML/CSS of your mobile site, which you can customize as per your requirements.

12. How to import my existing site into Zoho Sites?

Zoho Sites does not provide the option to create a website by uploading your own html files. Any website hosted through Zoho Sites needs to be created from scratch using the Zoho site builder. However, you can customize your website appearance using the Visual Editor and also by making changes in the HTML/CSS editor, and can also import your own themes from Themes section in Manage > Settings page.

13. Can I share my website with other authors?

You can invite others to contribute to your site. You can grant them two levels of access - Admin and Author. Admin will have all the privileges as you do, except that they cannot delete the site or the pages on the site. Authors can modify content and theme of your site, and by default, can publish the changes. You can prevent them from publishing, so that you'll have to verify what they modify, and publish it yourself. To invite Authors or Administrators to your website, go to Manage > Sharing, enter the email address to which you want the invite to be sent to and click on Share button.

14. How to hide a page from Google result? / What is Robot Text and what should I put here?

To prevent select pages from appearing on Google search results page, you have to modify the Robots.txt file. It is an instruction to Google, from you, on which pages on your site should and should not be indexed, thereby controlling their listing on search results.
By default, all pages will be indexed and will appear on search results. To prevent pages from showing up on search, you need to add those pages to the Robots.txt file.
Select "Settings" option from the "Manage" drop down list. On the settings page that appears, select "Robots Text" option under SEO section from the list on the left.
On the right, under "Crawlers" section, you will find Robots text box. In that box, specify those pages you don't want to appear on search results, in the following format: Disallow: /PageName.html. 15. How to hide a page from menu?

Hover mouse over the menu and choose "Manage Pages". On the pop-up that appears with a list of all your pages, edit the page you want to hide or show on the menu. Select "Yes" or "No" to the option, "Show in menu".

16. Is there any limit in number of pages?

You can create a website with unlimited pages while using the Pro Subscription. However, the number of pages is limited to 50 per site while using Lite account, and for free accounts, it is limited to 5 pages per website.

17. How do I backup my site?

We maintain redundant copies of all Zoho Sites, and will restore in case of any crisis. You can also download copies of your website to your computer. Go to Manage > Settings > Download Site and request for download. Once your request is processed, a download link will appear in the Download Site page. Also note that, only published sites can be downloaded.

18. How much space is allowed for my site?

We offer a whopping storage space of 20GB per Pro site, 3GB per Lite site and 1GB per free website.

19. How to rename a page?

Point your mouse cursor over the menu in the site editor and click on "Manage Pages" button. All pages on your website will be listed with a edit icon at the right. Click on it to edit the page name and other preferences. You may also navigate to the page that you want to edit, go to Page Options and choose Edit page details.

20. How to delete a page?

Point your mouse cursor over the menu in the site editor and click on "Manage Pages" button. All pages on your website will be listed with a delete icon at the right. Click on it to delete a page.

21. Can I protect some of the pages with password?

Point your mouse cursor over the menu in the site editor and click on "Manage Pages" button. All pages on your site will be listed with a lock icon beside each of them. Click on it to protect that page with a password.

22. ?How can I enable online payments on my site?

You can process payments for items you sell through your website, or raise funds for any cause using the PayPal payment button in Zoho Sites. Just add the payment buttons to your site, and configure your account.

23. Can I add photo gallery?

Yes you can add photo gallery in your website using widgets like Photo Gallery, Slideshow, Google+ Photos and flickr. Create a public album in Picasa or Flickr and then you can include these pictures to your page by using Google+ photos or Flickr widgets under "Apps" tab in site builder. Any content that goes for public view in web including photos can be copied through "print screen" functions etc. We can't stop images from being downloadable.

24. Where is my Site Traffic stats?

Select "Statistics" from the Manage drop down list. This will lead you to the counter page, where you can filter the views by day, week, month or year. This is not a detailed analysis of viewership. Just the basic statistics. For deeper insights, we recommend you to use Google Analytics and Webmaster tools which you can incorporate into your site. These professional Google tools are for free and help you drill deep down into data about your audience.

25. What are the video services support in Video embed?

Embed code from popular video hosting services like YouTube, Vimeo, Viddler are supported. Insert the video element where you want to display a video. In the dialog box that appears, paste the embed code obtained from respective services.

26. How to change the font color and size of the website name and caption?

The Visual Editor lets you customize components of your current theme. You can modify properties such as images and alignment of background, font family, size and color easily. Changes can be previewed as and when you make them. Visual Editor can be accessed by going to Themes > Visual Editor.

27. Will I receive email notification for blog comments?

Yes, email notification is enabled by default. Once your blog has been added, the blog icon on your dashboard will take you to blog preferences. In blog preferences, you can enable email notification.

28. I want to add an image/photo to my website. How do I do that?

The image element allows you to insert image from your computer or from a web URL. This link that you paste on the web URL section allows you to link image or photo in the website.

29. Can I hide sidebar for a particular page?

To hide sidebar from a specific page, navigate to that page, go to Page Options and click on 'Hide sidebar on this page' option.

30. Is it possible to buy domain from Zoho?

You can purchase a brand new domain name through Zoho just for $10/year and can have entire control over your domain manager. Domains that are purchased through Zoho do not require any verification process. DNS settings will be automatically configured.

31. My website is looking broken, what should I do?

This could be caused by incorrect HTML/CSS customization. You could identify yourself by taking a closer look at HTML/CSS. Or you can choose go back to one of the themes from the gallery,

32. Can I have more than one domain for a site?

Yes, you can have multiple domain to a site. Only one domain will be treated primary, meaning other domains will be redirected to primary domain. To manage domains of your website, go to Manage > Settings > Domains and you would find the option to set primary or secondary status, add the option to add or remove a domain.

33. My domain is configured correctly. But still Zoho Sites says its not configured. What should I do?

Domain verification might take from a couple of hours to a couple of days. Worst part is that we can do nothing to speed it up, because it entirely depends on the domain vendor.

34. Can I hide banner for a particular page?

Yes! To hide banner on a specific page, navigate to that page, go to Page Options and click on 'Hide banner on this page' option.

35. What kind of forms can I create?

We have a gallery of pre-built forms for generic needs, like contact management, event registration, etc. You can use any of them, or create your own forms for any custom data collection needs.

36. Can I replace the default contact form with my own form?

Yes, you can. Delete the default Contact page that has the contact form, and include your custom form on any other page you create.

37. Can I add the same form on more than one page of my site?

Yes, you can. Data collected from the multiple pages will be stored in a single view, listed under Form Data.

38. Which elements should go into each section?

Every element fits into any section. You just have to prioritize. For instance, attractive image slide-shows appear better on the sidebar than on the footer.

39. Can I re-position the sidebar?

The sections on a theme cannot be re-positioned. But some themes have the sidebar on the left, and some on the right. You could choose a theme that suits you.

40. What if I publish an incomplete site?

The incomplete website will be accessible to users. But you can edit your site even after publishing it, and republish the changes.

41. Can I revoke a published site?

Yes, you can bring a published site down. Move your mouse over the Publish button. On the list of options, click on "Unpublish".

42. Can I see how my site would look like before publishing?

Yes. After customizing the theme and the content, hover mouse cursor over Publish button and click on Preview Site option from the drop-down menu, to see how your site would appear to a visitor

43. Can I add my own domain to my Zoho website?

From the Domains tab on the Manage > Settings page, you can configure the domain for your website.

44. Can I get the help of other users in creating my website?

45. What is SEO?

When you Google-up the nearest store that sells great cup-cakes, the sites listed first are the most optimized ones. You are most likely to click on those links. How did those sites get to the top, over the other stores that sell similar cup-cakes? That is based on numerous parameters that Google and other search engines consider. Making sure your site holds good in most of these parameters is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
46. What is a keyword?

A keyword is what a page on your website specifically talks about. If your website is for a bakery, then you could have a separate page for wedding cakes. Then the phrase for which that page should be optimized for is "wedding cakes". That way, when people search for a bakery that specializes in wedding cakes, your page has an advantage over other sites that might not be optimized.

47. What is the difference between Stats and Google Analytics?

Stats provides only the number of visits which each of your page draws daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. But Google Analytics is far more sophisticated, and lets you drill down deep into information about your visitors. What keyword they searched before arriving at your page, which region of the world they are from, what browser they use, where on your page they click on and interact with, their path of navigation, etc.

48. I know nothing about SEO. How do I optimize my website?

There are loads of tips from the very people who evaluate the optimization; Google. Plus, whenever you hit the wall, we'll help you push through it.

49. What are the branding options for my website?

Rebranding helps in maintaining a constant and trademark theme across your site and products. Customize your logo, favicon, banner image and the color scheme of the theme you choose. With all these, your site will have your signature written all over it, making visitors instantly feel at home.

50. From my website, I want to remove all reference to Zoho. How?

Our Pro and Lite plan supports complete rebranding and footer customization. Upgrade your subscription, and remove all reference to Zoho from your website.

51. What is a breadcrumb?

Breadcrumb is the trail of pages you have navigated from the home page. It is to help visitors get to the home page instantly, from wherever they might be on your site. It is optional and you can disable it from Manage > Settings page.

52. Can I bulk-upload all the images I need, and then use them across pages?

Yes, you can upload at once, all the files you'll be using throughout your site, and then use them as needed. Access the file manager in the Settings page, locate all the files you would need on your site, and upload them all at once. This file manager is universal, and will list all the uploaded files for all the elements you add on your site.

53. Why should I upgrade?

If you are creating a personal website, then the free sub-domain should work fine. But for small businesses and professionals, the upgrade comes with privileges that would add value to their site. Google AdSense, more forms, total customization of footer, favicon and complete customization.

54. What should I know before registering a domain name?

a) Your domain name should be unique.
b) Your domain name should be relevant to your business.
c) Your domain name should be simple enough for your customers to remember.

55. I have my own domain that I registered with another vendor. Can I use it with Zoho Sites?

Yes, if you already have a domain, you can use it to host your website and business email at Zoho. You only need to verify your ownership of the domain. To do this, you need to login to the domain vendor's portal and update the values of CNAME and A Record.

56. What are CNAME and A Record?

They are domain settings that direct users to your website hosted on Zoho Sites whenever they access your domain name.

57. How do I update these records?

Domain configuration might seem slightly tricky at first because it involves a few technical procedures. Refer this detailed document (http://zohosites.wiki.zoho.com/configure-a-domain.html) for complete information about domain configuration.

58. How do I edit my website?

To edit your website, log into sites.zoho.com, hover mouse over the website that you would like to edit and click on Edit Site button on the right-hand side.

59. How many custom forms can I have on my website?

Pro users can have 25 custom forms, while Lite users can have 5 customer forms. Free users will need to use the Conatct form.

60. How do I change the theme on my website?

To change the theme on your website, go to Themes > Gallery and you can choose from any one of the available themes.
